To the Land of the Amber Nectar. Where they have wailey things under their arms, and blokes wear skirts. And chuck tree trunks at each other.
For about a week or so. Me bein’ away that is… not them chucking tree trunks at each other. Although it could well take a week or so to chuck a tree trunk at someone. How would I know?
But be warned… I may very well be back. (If I survive the ordeal. And don’t get whisked away by some wee lass who’s looking for a right old idiot mature English gent to entertain her during the long dark lonely evenings. Huh. Chance would be a fine thing. Or get eaten alive by them strange haggis creatures wot they have there… that being much more likely.)
With pics and tales to delight the cockles of your heart. Or not. As the case may be. And depending what mood I’m in. Or can remember anything after all the imbibing I’ll likely be doing. Of the old amber nectar that’ll be. In between doing what I’m going there to do of course… pic-taking. Naturally.
And don’t forget… nowadays, in this marvellous social networking age (ahem), you can keep updated with posts to this ’ere blog using Twitter if you like. I’ve even set up a special account just for updates to the blog. None of that every-five-minutes malarkey of “I’m now scratching my arse” sort of thing for me thankyou very much. Cos that’s just plain boring, and who the hell would be interested anyway? Or maybe that’s what “social networking” is all about?
Having some time to kill before departing for points North I looked up “social networking” and related matters on Wikipedia… cos I’m a bit sad like that. With particular regard to Twitter. And here’s what it says:
Twitter set the trend for “real time” services, where users can broadcast to the world what they are doing, or what is on their minds within a 140 character limit.
Well, I’ve already covered the “what I’m doing” bit… it’s all boring. As for the “what’s on my mind bit”… precious little most of the time. On the odd occasions when there is stuff on my mind its generally not the sort of stuff that’s suitable for sharing. And there’s never stuff on my mind within 140 characters. Ho hum.
Anyway, here’s me dedicated “blog updates” account, not to be confused with my other Twitter account…

Coo… aren’t I thoughtful?
And with that I’ll bid you “Cheerio” and try to behave yourselves while I’m away!
