The Impossible Scene

The Impossible Scene P1020741

And here we have a pic of the impossible scene!

Um… maybe not.

Cos you’re seeing it. At least, I assume you’re seeing it. And if you ain’t then either there’s something fundamentally wrong with your browser… or with your eyesight.
Or maybe the Flickr servers have gone down. Again. Cos all the pics on this blog aren’t actually here, despite appearances to the contrary. They’re on Flickr. Isn’t this whole Web thingie truly wonderful? However, let’s not get too sidetracked.

Nevertheless, this time last week this scene definitely would have been impossible.

For what you’re seeing here is the view from one of my windows. Exactly as I haven’t seen it ever since I’ve been resident at this ‘ere place.

Cos up until last week slap bang in the gap between those houses, although on my side of the road, was a bloody huge tree. That virtually obscured them entirely. In fact I never before realised that theoretically I could see the horizon from my window through that conveniently positioned gap. Wow!

But waking up one day last week I discovered that someone had snuck up and stolen it! Carried it away. Gone for good. The tree, that is. Not the gap. That’s still there. As you can see.
Cheeky sods!

Or (more likely) that the Council (or someone) had come along and chopped it down! I was aghast. Couldn’t believe it.

Dunno why it was chopped down. And not a lot I could have done about it anyway as technically it was beyond the boundary of this property. Er… quite a few feet beyond in fact. Though at least they could have warned me they were going to do it. Given me a chance to get myself mentally prepared sort of thing. Say my fond farewells and all that rubbish.
Inconsiderate, that’s what it was. Just trample all over peoples’ feelings without a care, without a word of explanation, that’s what they do.

And I shall miss it dearly, not least because I like trees and hate to see them cut down.
Also though because suddenly I feel quite naked. Exposed as it were. And if I’m gonna expose myself I’d sooner do it where and when I want. And to whomever I choose. Which certainly wouldn’t be the neighbours.
However, there is that rather…

Ahem. [Pull yourself together laddie!]

That’s the real explanation of course. The neighbours across the road have obviously conspired together to have it removed just so that they can spy on me. Toerags!

On the other hand… that works both ways dunnit? And I bet their lives are a damn sight more interesting than mine. Hmm. Now where’d I put that long lens?

Heh heh.

You could always have words with the council and see if they will remove the rest of the trees, further away down that gap, would improve this shot no end!
I would guess they didn’t tell YOU they were going to cut the tree down just inc ase you chained yourself, naked, to it in protest, they are well aware of your activities and wouldn’t want a protest formed to prevent them chopping the tree down.

Oh you could also have BT reove those ugly phone wires as well. ;)

    or even remove!

I have a feeling those phone lines may have been something to do with it all along, as the tree’s branches were getting to be really tangled up with some of them.

Still, couldn’t they have simply trimmed some branches if it indeed was an issue of the lines being entangled?
