Really rather mediocre

Today was arguably the most unenthusiastic, uninspired little session mate and I have had!

Dunno why. Started out pretty much as normal… hooking up in town centre and immediately adjourning for coffee and nosh at our favourite eating place.
No need to go into detail regarding why its our favourite eating place… be it sufficient to say that its not entirely due to the food. Good though that is.

Weather was a bit naff to be honest, which may have had something to do with it. As also the fact that mate was feeling a bit “under the weather” too, in a manner of speaking.

Anyway, refreshment taken on board we wander outside and discover its raining.
Not heavy lashings of rain, such that folk are dashing hither and yon with wind-blown brollies clasped firmly in clenched mitts. Oh no. No such luck.
Really rather mediocre. Sufficient to get wet in, and make the pavement a bit shiny, but little else.

Well, at least its rain and not snow this time P1020714

So we wander around somewhat disconsolately, taking the occasional snap here and there though truth to tell our hearts weren’t in it.

Finally end up back at The Bear (of course!), only to discover we’d brought the mood with us.
But I did manage to snap a rare pic of the honourable Landlord. And he just couldn’t resist posing!

No prizes for guessing where this is! P1020708

[Edit: In response to a comment I've added a fairly lengthy explanation for that first pic, on Flickr]

The landlord looks to be a fun fellow. :)

To be honest, I’d rather have rain than snow. I’ve always enjoyed snow (mostly for the pictures) but we’ve had way too much of it this year. Southern people cannot drive in snow…and one or two flakes start to fall and folks start wrecking all over the place. It’s really aggravating.

The lady in the top pic looks a bit off balance. I am guessing it’s the shoes.

      Ah, the landlord… he’s certainly a bit of a lad! ;)

Yeah, rain rather than snow any time. The only decent place for snow is in photographs!
What you say about driving in snow certainly rings a bell. Where I am now the folk seem totally unaccustomed to it and consequently either everything slows down ridiculously (or even stops!)… or you see motorists doing really stupid things.
I can’t help contrasting that with my former home town where the residents were much more used to snow and driving in it really didn’t seem to create many problems at all.
