Doom and gloom
Did I not say, way back in March, that ‘09 was shaping up to be a year that’ll really suck?
Well, I was right!
Its been a crap year so far… and there’s still a bit to go.
Money in short supply, uncertain financial future (for me personally that is, never mind the rest of the country!). Crap health (oh, you wouldn’t believe how crap). The discovery of dust on me sensor (the GX10… my “baby”). Broke me first digital camera (the Z6), the finer points of which I was just beginning to really appreciate.
Plans made that failed to materialise… many times.
A huge photography commission I totally failed to get.
At every point where you’d think it couldn’t get any worse… it bloody did!
And to round it all off I can’t even afford to buy a decent whisky anymore to drown me sorrows in… cos the sodding Government bunged an extra bloody tax on it all! Now I’m having to make do with cheapie stuff that just gives me a headache. Dammit. Its almost enough to drive one to… er… abstinence. What? Bloody hell.
And then I made the foolish mistake of doing a bit of “Well, where am I up to with all this photography stuff then?” sort of thing (see previous post). Another bad move that seemed like a good idea at the time.
Don’t mind saying, I’ve been well pee’d off with it all. Beginning to think it might be an idea to emigrate to another planet or something. Probably get hit by an asteroid on the way though. Or some sort of “oid”. With my sort of luck its likely to be haemorrhoids!
The only mitigating feature far as I can see is that mate’s had a crap year as well.
And now, just to rub it all in…
So don’t let anyone try to tell you things are getting better. They ain’t!

ain’t it amazing how they gotta get rid of 80 people cos they haven’t got the money but they can blow £100,000 on a statue that no one really wanted.
And don’t get me started on the crapness that has been 2009, this has got to be the single worst year of my miserable life so far, what with my many wonderful hospital visits and all the time off work to convalesce, which of course meant no money to spend on the vital things like food, never mind paying the bloody bills which seem to never stop coming.
I feel a rant coming… must calm down….its too much….aaarrrgh! DARREN SMASH!

Mike….Darren….I truly wish I could wave a magic wand and make it all better. I really like you both and don’t enjoy seeing (so to speak) people I like in pain.
But I like myself as well and the past few years have blown chunks for me.
We appear to be in the same boat and it’s sinking rather quickly. But hey! At least we all have each other in some sort of weird Internet sort-of way.
Quick… someone hand me the razor blades now!

Bloody useless razors….just snapped, maybe I’ll try hanging myself instead.
Well, I did have some rope you coulda used… but the bloody stuff broke. Just my sodding luck!
