Amidst all the tales of unfortunate encounters between cops and photographers that have been floating around in recent months, one occasionally comes across something that brings a light to the eye and a chuckle to the throat.
Often of course its not the cops that’re the problem, the real ones that is, but those wannabe cops, the PCSOs (or is it CPSOs? I can never remember which).
Anyway, those community policing type bods, most of whom seem to be completely clueless when it comes to anything relating to the law.
Hmm.
Well, I’ve just read a truly heartening account (courtesy of a link on Flickr) of one such encounter and I think I’ve now recovered sufficiently from the giggles to do this little post, cos it simply has to be shared.
Not just the encounter itself that’s worth sharing, but the photographer/blogger’s style of writing too. Love it. And hat off to him for having such presence of mind as well (though no doubt he was a bit unnerved by it at the time).
Just a pity he didn’t get some pics of the cops (er… lookalike cops) involved as well. Oh well, can’t have everything I s’pose.
Still, here ya go. Enjoy…

read it! That’s funny really. I dont think we have any “laws” over here about snapping photos of police buildings, signs or cars. I dunno though, i may ought to check.
Where incidents such as these have occurred (and unfortunately there’s far too many of them over here) its not so much that any law’s been broken but that paranoia and officiousness seem to have replaced basic common sense.
