Photography is not a crime!
March 29, 2008
Just found (and joined) this great group on Flickr “Photography is not a crime“
Here, they can speak for themselves…
About the group:
Please post a photo or up to 3 photos of a situation that got you in trouble . Security guards rushed you? Police threaten to arrest you? Private citizens get upset? In this “post 9/11″ era, when photographers are equated to terrorists and cameras likened to weapons, this is the place for kindred spirits to post, tell the story and share.
Don’t forget to tell the story behind the photo!
And a message from the group’s admin:
We are in the “post 9/11″ era. This excuse is used when people don’t want you to take a photo. Photographers are likened to terrorists and cameras to weapons. It seems scale is important - point and shoot? You’re NOT a terrorist. Big lens, prosumer camera? Well, then, you ARE a terrorist and should be harassed/detained/questioned/arrested for your crime of taking photos. Read the stories, post your own, share, and most important - keep shooting (photos)
So if you’ve got a Flickr account and have had hassle innocently taking pics check ‘em out (and maybe even join!).

I’m lucky to not be bothered by the fuzz. But I showed my support with my EPUK sweatshirt! Apparently I’m the ONLY person here in the Americas with one. I’m very special you know.

Yes, you’re certainly very special!
(Darren will be able to explain the full subtleties of that particular insult far better than I!)
As for being bothered by the fuzz, just give it time!
