Yesterday evening the weather forecasters were predicting heavyish snowfall and hazardous driving conditions for my entire area… all to be happening first thing in the morning.
In fact, even going so far as to say that folk would be waking up in the morning to be greeted by a white Easter Sunday.
“Aha” thinks I, “this’ll be great. Time to get home, get the cameras out, and be waiting in readiness for it to start settling”.
Not a hint of it on the way home though (about six-ish). But then, having settled down in front of the computer for a couple of hours messing around I espy out the window the first few dandruff-like specks falling.
A quick coffee later and wander out to see what I can shoot. Hmm… no big fat juicy snowflakes, no six-foot high drifts… not even any six mm high drifts!
Despondently firing off a few shots that later I’ll be able to intriguingly label “The start of my village’s first real snowfall of the year” when I upload them to Flickr I shuffle back indoors for a bit more computer time.
Ninety minutes or so later conditions outside look a tad more interesting, so time for another sortie. Needn’t really have bothered.
And just a few hours later all hint of the white stuff had vanished. Weather-wise, fairly typical for this area.

Serene. Yes. That’s the word. Serene.
We had snow here yesterday. Almost an inch, but it’s all gone. It was serene as well.
