Latest Flickr Uploads #5

Basically, what I said in my last Flickr Uploads post!

Standing in a cold damp field waiting for this to happen, with the wind blowing straight through my allegedly “windproof” jacket was just about worth it… I think!

Wouldn’t have been quite so bad had I not been victim of a sore throat, the sniffles, and generally feeling like sh*t!

Back home with a rather large glass (or two) of single malt soon sorted out my discomfort though
:)

[Edit: Memo to self... next time I indulge a caper like this must remember to take the long lens with me. Idiot!]

Hi fotdmike, strange you are ill, it seems to have hit me too. I bet it was my other mate who was complaining how bad he was when we were on the bus :(

  2. fotdmike says:

Ah, that’ll be it then. Its ‘orrible!

Exquisite photos. I’m only sorry it made you feel unwell (or more unwell). By the way….what the hell is that bright thing on the horizon?

  4. fotdmike says:

Ah yes forkboy, you may remember in the dim and distant past a strange aerial phenomenon known as the “sun”. Alas, only observed by extremely fortunate people. Well, that’s it, anyway.

But if it makes you feel any better, we’ve got gale force storms lashing the countryside this morning (Mon 0640) with predictions that it’ll get worse, and more to come tomorrow and/or Wednesday. Severe weather warnings are out all over the country, and flooding’s expected. Bet that’ll cheer you up!

I might actually manage to get a few “nasty weather” pics… if I can generate enough enthusiasm to brave the elements which, at the present mo’, seems a bit unlikely. :(

Sun….sun….sun…..yes….it seems I have some recollection of this thing you call “sun”.

We received 15-inches of snow and high winds (40mph) from Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon. And it is melting already, which isn’t good as the ground is quite saturated with water from the previous snow and rains of the recent weeks past.

I didn’t take out the 40D for the snow as the wind was too much, but I did break out the Canon A630 and took some pics, which I’ll post soon.
